Deep Roots of Discovery

In the Junior School, our student journey is one of personal discovery and rapid growth. We follow the National Curriculum used in England, elevating it with a modern, global outlook that encourages children to explore without limits. Our curriculum is built around three core academic bedrocks

Personalised Support & Progress Tracking

We treat every child as an individual, with their own unique interests, talents, and learning pace. We are dedicated to providing the precise encouragement they need to succeed in their own way.

Assessing Progress with Care
We assess student progress regularly throughout the year using the learning objectives of the English National Curriculum and clear end-of-year expectations. Crucially, we also evaluate social capabilities and learning attitudes to understand each child's holistic development. This helps us share detailed progress reports mid-way through and at the end of the academic year.
Targeted Extension & Support
Our dedicated curriculum and learning support teachers work closely with classroom teachers to deliver targeted extension and support sessions. This ensures that children who need a gentle boost or an extra intellectual stretch receive the exact guidance they need.
English as an Additional Language (EAL)
For children arriving at the BSA who are new to English, our specialised EAL teachers provide outstanding, supportive small-group sessions. Delivered either within the classroom or as targeted withdrawal groups, we work closely with children to accelerate their language skills and build instant social confidence.
Language Pathways
Alongside English, children are introduced to Dutch as a modern foreign language. For bilingual homes, we offer native-level Dutch instruction to ensure students maintain and grow their heritage language skills.
