The arts are an integral part of life at the BSA. We provide professional facilities and expert guidance to help students showcase their artistic brilliance:
The Annual Production
Our popular school production club puts on an annual musical show. This is a true community event where students are encouraged to take the lead in performance, stage design, costumes, makeup, lighting, and sound, building public speaking confidence and teamwork.
Art & Ceramics
Our spacious Art Department houses a professional kiln room for firing superb ceramic and sculptural art. Large-scale collaborative pieces created by our students are frequently showcased in our annual Creative Arts Exhibition, with select student projects displayed at prominent public locations throughout the city of Amsterdam.
Private Music Tuition (YMBSA)
We are fortunate to host a dedicated network of experienced peripatetic music specialists known as the Young Musicians of The British School of Amsterdam (YMBSA). Private, one-to-one music tuition is offered on campus for a wide range of instruments:
Violin, Cello, Harp, Guitar, Recorder, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Brass instruments, Voice, Piano, and Drums.
Through structured music tuition, students build deep creative discipline, boost cognitive development, and enjoy the lifelong reward of mastering an instrument. Students have numerous opportunities to perform in recitals and assemblies throughout the school year, and may opt to take official graded performance exams to track their progress.
Graded Music Examinations
We proudly host regular, accredited music examinations on our campus:
- In-person ABRSM classical music exams each November.
- Digital performance exams are arranged directly through YMBSA teachers, including: ABRSM (Classical), Trinity College of Music (Classical, Pop & Rock), and LCME (Musical Theatre and Popular Vocals).
Please Note: Lesson schedules and payments are managed directly through the YMBSA and operate independently of standard school fees. To register your child or discuss lessons, please get in touch via email.
