I joined the British School of Amsterdam with the idea of staying for one year and that was in 2014. The school has changed and grown a lot since then. I love that we’re all together in a unique building in central Amsterdam. I have been at The BSA for half of my career so far and don’t plan to move on anytime soon.
What makes the school a special place is the dedication of the staff, the enthusiasm of our pupils, and the support and relationship with parents. I love working in the Junior School; it’s vibrant and fun, with our children being at the centre of everything we do. We’re constantly evolving, looking at ways for teaching and learning to be even better.
If you join the Junior School, you will be part of a group of fantastic and friendly practitioners who are supported by a nurturing and erudite leadership team. Working in beautiful Amsterdam is the cherry on the cake.

Joining The British School of Amsterdam was a fantastic move for my career and an opportunity to immerse myself in a new culture. Although I have only been part of the school for six months, it has already proven to be a great decision. From day one, I felt extremely welcomed and supported by both my colleagues and the wider school community.
I truly feel like I’m part of more than just a school; it’s a community. The parents of our pupils are actively involved in school life and completely supportive of our efforts. My colleagues are incredibly supportive, always willing to collaborate and help one another grow.
The British School of Amsterdam is a place where both professional and personal growth are encouraged. If you’re an ambitious teacher eager to develop and advance, this is the perfect school for you.
