Meet the Head

On behalf of the children and staff, I would like to warmly welcome you to the Infant School.

I have been working in a leadership role at the British School of Amsterdam for seven years. Originally from Scotland, I taught there and in France before coming to the British School of Amsterdam eight years ago. I have been in education for ten years and previously worked as a solicitor in Scotland and England.

The Infant School is part of the British School of Amsterdam and caters for the learning needs of children from 5 to 7 years of age, at Key Stage 1 of the National Curriculum used in England, years 1 and 2.

At the Infant School we have a dedicated and committed team of teaching professionals with a wide range of experience teaching around the world. We work very closely together to ensure we provide the very best educational opportunities for your children.

We aim to support your child's holistic development. High academic standards are important and fundamental in ensuring your child is able to reach or exceed his or her potential. We also place a great emphasis on allowing your child to shine in lots of different ways and in supporting personal, social and emotional growth. We value creativity, imagination and problem solving and aim to foster a love of learning.

Above all we strive to bring the learning to life! We want your child to love coming to school, to be excited and interested in what they are learning and to develop the skills and habits they will need to be successful in their future school careers.

I look forward to meeting you in person and helping you to experience first hand all that the Infant School has to offer.

With best wishes,

Ms Lynn Welsh-Boucard
Head of the Infant School
